I wasn’t always the picture of health- I suffered from multiple food sensitivities, weight gain, chronic fatigue, brain fog and digestive issues.
I made countless visits to the doctor’s office; no one knew what the real issue was, so I was left feeling depressed and defeated. It wasn’t until I found a holistic practitioner who started me on an elimination diet that I began to rebound from my health issues. My lifelong digestive issues and low energy diminished. After so many years of doctor appointments, why had no one ever suggested that the food that I was eating affected my health?
The realization that food could cause harm started me on my healing journey. It was after working in the hospital as a nurse that brought this to the forefront again for me. I saw so many people suffering in the hospital with lifestyle factors they could in fact control – including their diet.
With all of the constraints of the ‘healthcare’ system, physicians can make recommendations, but they just don’t have the time to do everything — like sit down with people on a regular basis and helping them to manage and prevent chronic diseases with a lifestyle approach. An approach that takes into account a healthy, whole foods diet, exercise, and finding ways to cope with stress. I started my practice to fill the void.
